How do I move my existing phone number to a new phone system?
If you decide you want to change your phone provider, you’ll likely want to keep your existing number – after all, this is probably the number that all of your clients and suppliers know.
Once you are the subscriber to a specific number, if you want to change provider your existing provider has to allow you to move your number(s) with you. So if you decide to move providers and want to keep your phone number, you should talk to your new provider about porting your existing number(s) to them. They’ll make sure they have the porting agreements in place with the host of your number(s) to ensure they are portable to them, and take control of the process.
